About us
Janssen Metaal Recycling is a family business that has its roots deep in Dutch history. The company was founded in the 1960s by Frans Janssen, a visionary entrepreneur who recognised the potential of metal recycling early on. At a time when sustainability was not yet a buzzword, Janssen saw that recycling metals was not only economically advantageous, but also environmentally friendly. What started as a small scrap metal company has grown over the years into one of the leading players in the metal recycling industry.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Janssen Metal Recycling experienced strong growth. The second generation, led by French sons Peter, Willem and Josef, brought innovation and modernization to the company. They invested in advanced technologies and expanded the company with new facilities and branches. This period also marked the internationalization of the company, when they began importing and exporting metals to and from various European countries. However, the focus always remained on quality and durability, which made them a reliable partner in the industry.
Today, we know Janssen Metal Recycling as Venlo Metal Recycling led by the third generation Janssen, which continues the tradition of innovation and sustainability. The company plays a crucial role in the circular economy by processing and recycling thousands of tonnes of metal waste every year. With a strong emphasis on environmentally friendly practices and social responsibility, Venlo Metal Recycling remains a pioneer in the industry. Their story is a testament not only to business success, but also to commitment to a greener future.
